Frequently Asked QuestionsHere are the answers to our most frequently asked questions: Installing AcrobatIf you are having difficulty installing Adobe Acrobat please visit their website: www.adobe.com/acrobat Black WindowIf when you select any of the census, directories, parish records or back issues, you get a black window pop up and nothing else happens. You need to set your file associations for PDF files to the Acrobat Reader. Installing Acrobat Reader would normally do this but occasionally it is neccesssary to manually set. Do this by using My Computer to browse the PDF files in the CDROMs fscommand folder and shift right click on the PDF and select open with, Choose program, and select Acrobat Reader. If you don't want to set file associations simply start Acrobat Reader and use File Open, browse to the PDF files in the CDROMs fscommand folder and select the one you wish to view. Mac UsersIf you are running OSX you should be able to open the fscommand folder containing the acrobat files. Older OS users should open the folder which starts with fsc... To see the files and folders with long filenames it useful to have the Joliet file utility from http://www.tempel.org/joliet/index.html PC software will require a Windows emulator such as Virtual PC. |
